Making the Most of your Trip

Every trip I lead is different and is based on your preferences.
The following are things to think about as we discuss booking the trip that best suits your needs.
More frequently asked questions can be found on the Book A Trip page.

Fishing Bait

What can you expect from me?

A lot of effort to ensure you have a great trip. I pride myself on my work ethic and if the day doesn't go as hoped it won't be from a lack of trying. I truly love working with people of all ages and abilities and am committed to providing you outstanding service.

What kind of fish do you
want to catch?

Walleyes, crappies, northerns, small-mouth bass and muskies are all options. Many people/groups defer to me on this question and my recommendation is almost always to go catch some trophy walleyes. You may also have a preference and we can build around that. Please note, some fish are biting better depending on the time of the year.

Can you fish in U.S. and/or Canadian waters?

Both options require fishing licenses (explained on the Book A Trip page) and there is excellent fishing regardless of your choice. Approximately 70% of Rainy Lake is in Canada and you can find more serene and undisturbed spots on that side of the border.

Beyond the fishing, is there more to the outing?

Rainy Lake is one of the most beautiful bodies of water you can ever be on. While I hope it is the fishing that makes your day, the scenery is a terrific side kick. Many people thoroughly enjoy the boat ride itself, not just for the majestic waters and trees but for the wildlife as well. There is a chance to see bears, moose, timberwolves, deer, bald eagles and loons.
